Politt Canada is committed to credible, fair and clearly explained journalism. These standards guide our reporting, analysis, opinion and commercial partnerships.

Accuracy and verification: We verify material facts before publication, rely on identifiable and authoritative sources whenever possible, and make uncertainty clear when information is still developing.

Attribution and corrections: Information from other organizations is properly attributed. Material errors are corrected promptly and transparently, with a note explaining significant changes when appropriate.

Independence and fairness: Editorial decisions are made independently of political parties, governments, advocacy groups and advertisers. People and organizations facing serious criticism should have a reasonable opportunity to respond.

Opinion and sponsored content: Commentary is clearly labelled and separated from news reporting. Paid or sponsored material is prominently identified, and advertisers do not receive editorial approval over independent coverage.

Responsible technology: Digital and AI tools may support research, transcription, translation or production, but published journalism remains subject to human review, verification and editorial accountability.
